Professional Web Promotion Strategies
I have been a web marketer for the last ten years; there have been many changes to the way people should go about promoting their websites in this time and it can prove to be a bit of nightmare trying to keep in touch with the latest web promotion changes. What worked only three years ago could now result in your site receiving a ban or penalty on the major search engines. Paid links and over-excessive reciprocal linking are seemingly a thing of the past. So as we move through 2011 what types of web promotion strategy should a webmaster be following?
Just one or two years ago you could gain a high ranking within a search engine like Google by simply buying a link on a page which had a high page rank. It did not even seem to matter if the site that was providing the link had anything to do with the site purchasing the link. Many a website could be seen buying up multiple links on high page rank sites in the hope and belief that it would in turn help their own site. A lot of people made a lot of money from selling these text links and a new marketplace formed.
Google, the daddy of all of the search engines, then decided to change the rules and I for one am very happy that they did. They decided that it was no longer ethical to buy or sell backward links. This upset a lot of people, this tends to happen when money is involved with many accusing Google of acting as God. The reply from Google was short and to the point and went along the lines of; it is our search engine and we therefore decide our own guidelines; if you want to sell text links that is fine but it may result in some form of penalty as this goes against our current. They were basically saying you can do whatever you want with your website and at the same time we can do whatever we want with our search engine. Fair play, I say. I am actually very happy with the new guidelines; it was very hard to compete with webmasters who had deep pockets etc. Now the one-man band can compete with the big corporation; hard work, keeping up to date with the latest guidelines as well as learning from the SEO experts will once again prove to be very beneficial.
2011 brings about a new watch word in the world of web promotion company; relevancy. What does this mean? Well quite simply the backward links that you attempt to obtain now need to be relevant to the site that you run for them to have a real benefit. Again this surely is common sense in my world. If a website about gardening has a link pointing to a website about camping, is this offering any value to its site visitors? Not really.
2011 is also the year when those who are willing to work hard will finally get their rewards. Some of the old favourites such as article marketing are becoming more popular than ever but quality is now far more important than quantity. Only the best articles will be chosen to be published on other people's websites and let's face it they have enough articles to choose from. This is something any decent web promotion services is also likely to advise.
Ensuring that your website is optimised correctly with the main keywords placed naturally within the text of the homepage will also be essential, be careful not to "keyword stuff" your homepage though.

Frequently Asked Questions...
Cat6 Jacks best brand, best quality, best value?
We have a networking job coming up later this year in a new building being built and we’re going to install about 1450 Cat6 jacks. With so many different brands of Cat6 jacks on the market and with prices ranging from about $1 to $8 each what is the best value on the market?
Answer:
Being a low voltage contractor for the last 18 years and ex phone company employee I see your dilemma. I want to mention that over the years I’ve install every reputable brand on the market and I’ve even tried some cheap $1 Cat6 jacks as you mentioned.
Lets start at the $1 Cat6 jacks. If you’re a contractor and know your jacks you’ll hate these for lots of reasons and if you need to attach a Fluke cat 6 tester to it I can promise you lots of Cat 6 fails. If you’re a do it yourself-er you wont know any better but don’t be surprised if a couple of days go by and your jack is no longer working properly.
What about those $8 Cat6 Jacks? Lots of those brands have a following or market they focus on. The Leviton product is mostly marketed to electrical contractors who have worked with the Leviton high voltage side of things for a while and where they pick up their high voltage materials is where they get their low voltage. Panduit works on getting there projects specified in school districts and written in by the Architect.
If you want a quality jack at a reliable price and for your big installation coming up I would install the Cat6 Kwik jack. Now when you use the Kwik tool to terminate those jacks you’ll be finished faster then you can say Blue Barrie pancakes! The tool terminates and cuts all the pairs at the same time! The Cat 6 jacks are about $3.90 but the time saved is priceless especially when you have lots of them to do. Time is my most costly commodity. And tested out great. Here's a demo video on a jack being terminated.
